At Hike & Bike, you can choose whether you want to hike or bike along the Dutch coast. If you choose walking, each day you will walk a certain distance on the beach and/or through the dunes, depending on the route you have chosen. If you choose cycling, starting on the second day you will ride a certain distance on a bike path along the coast, which sometimes also goes through the dunes. You can also choose a combination of walking and cycling, walking one day and cycling the next.
At Hike & Bike, you can use different types of bikes, depending on your preference and availability. You can choose from a city bike, or an electric bike. You can j rent a bike from us. When you rent a bike, we make sure the bike is ready for you at the starting point of your tour, and that the bike is picked up at the end point. The cost of renting a bike depends on the type of bike.
The price of Hike & Bike includes:
- The overnight stay in a hotel, including breakfast
- The dinner in a restaurant, including a drink (One can also choose an arrangement without dinner)
- Packed lunch on the way, including a drink and a snack
- The drinks and/or ice creams in the beach pavilions
- The transport of your luggage from one hotel to another
- The tourist tax
- The VAT
The price of Hike & Bike does not include:
- The travel costs to the starting point and from the finishing point
- The possible rental of a bike
- Any entrance fees to places of interest
- Any additional consumptions or expenses
- Any gratuities
You can pay at Hike & Bike via iDeal, credit card, PayPal or bank transfer. You pay a deposit of 25% of the total price when booking your trip, and the remaining amount no later than four weeks before the start date of your trip. You will receive a confirmation and an invoice by email after your booking.
You can cancel or change your booking with Hike & Bike up to four weeks before the start date of your trip. You will then be refunded your deposit minus a € 25 administration fee. If you cancel or change your booking within four weeks before the start date of your trip, you will have to pay the full amount. We recommend that you take out cancellation insurance in case you are unable to join your tour.
At Hike & Bike, where applicable, we adhere to the applicable corona measures of the government and industry associations. We ensure that you can hike or bike along the Dutch coast safely and responsibly, with adequate distance and hygiene. We cooperate with hotels, restaurants and beach pavilions that also comply with corona rules, such as wearing a mouth mask, disinfecting hands and limiting the number of guests. If there are any changes in the corona situation or measures, we will notify you and possibly adjust or cancel your booking.
For your Hike & Bike trip, you don't need to bring much, as we provide most of the supplies.
You only need to provide:
- A valid ID
- A debit or credit card for any extra expenses
- Comfortable clothes and shoes for hiking or biking
- A raincoat or poncho in case it rains
- Sunglasses, sunscreen and a cap or hat for the sun
- A water bottle that you can refill
- A phone with charger and possibly a power bank
- A camera or a smartphone for taking pictures
- A small backpack for your personal belongings
- A good mood and an adventurous spirit
