About us
Hike & Bike is an initiative of René Zonneveld, cycling and nature lover at heart. René has worked for years as a tour leader and guide for various organizations, where he gained a lot of experience in organizing and guiding hiking and/or biking tours.
René has always had a passion for the coast and wanted to share his love for the sea, the beach and the dunes with others. He also saw an opportunity to develop a unique concept that offered people the opportunity to experience a mini vacation at the coast, without much hassle or expense. Thus was born the idea for Hike & Bike: a provider of hiking and biking tours along the Dutch coast, with all the trimmings.
Our mission
Our mission is to offer people an unforgettable experience by discovering the Dutch coast in a fun, relaxed and sustainable way. We want people to enjoy the fresh air, beautiful nature and cozy atmosphere of coastal towns. We also want to teach people more about the history and culture of the coastal region and let them taste local delicacies. We also want to encourage people to be active, exercise and enrich their bodies and minds.
Our vision
Our vision is to become the best and most enjoyable provider of walking and cycling tours along the coast. We want to distinguish ourselves by our quality, our service and our customer friendliness. We also want to keep developing and innovating, offering new routes, packages and options. We also want to minimize our impact on the environment by making sustainable choices and working with local partners. We also want to fulfill our social responsibility by contributing to charities and initiatives that protect and improve the coast.
Our team
Always up for new ideas, our team consists of enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff, all passionate about the coast, hiking and biking. Our team consists of:
- René Zonneveld: the owner and founder of Hike & Bike. He is responsible for the general management, strategy and marketing of the company. He is also actively involved in the organization and guidance of the tours. He is always up for a chat, a joke or some advice.
- Lisa de Vries: the coordinator and planner of Hike & Bike. She is responsible for bookings, administration and logistics of the company. She makes sure everything runs smoothly and that the customers are satisfied. She is also the first point of contact for the clients and is always ready to answer their questions.
- Max vd Ploeg: Rent A Bike's technical manager and mechanic. He is responsible for the maintenance, repair and rental of the bikes. He makes sure the bikes are in top condition and that the customers can cycle safely and comfortably.
